Chief Education and School Counseling Innovation Officer

Program Director - Alameda County Office of Education

Nichalous is a visionary leader in school counseling and education, dedicated to expanding access to high-quality student support. He began his career as a College Access advisor in New York’s inner-city schools before earning a Master’s in School Counseling and a PPS credential. With over two decades of experience, he has shaped school counseling programs to better serve students and families. In addition, he holds an Administrative Services Credential and served as a high school principal in San Francisco, championing student-centered initiatives. As an adjunct professor at CSU East Bay, he has taught future school counselors and continues to lead systemic change at the Alameda County Office of Education (ACOE), where he launched the School Counselor Residency Program. Now at AskSheldon, Nichalous is redefining school counseling through technology, innovation, and strategic partnerships, empowering school counselors and educators to better serve students while equipping families with the tools to support their students’ success.
